Andrea Schaffer has a passion for rheumatology.  She has been a member of our staff since 2003.  Prior to joining the clinic she provided oncology care in Illinois.

• Andrea is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and received and completed a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Andrea is a member of the Rheumatology Association of Iowa.
• She is currently a lecturer for the Physician Assistant Program at Des Moines University.

One important focus area of work for Andrea is educating patients about arthritis and using medications safely and effectively, while emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyle habits to improve their overall quality of life.
