Des Moines is Dr. Steven Craig’s hometown, and he is pleased to be back in Iowa’s capital city working to improve the lives of Iowans who have health problems caused by rheumatoid-related illnesses. He has special interests in treating patients who have rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout and osteoporosis.

• Dr. Craig graduated from the University of Notre Dame and then earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa.
• He spent five years in Omaha training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he completed his internal medicine training followed by a rheumatology fellowship.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Craig is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Rheumatology Association of Iowa.
• Dr. Craig is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.
• Dr. Craig is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is also an adjunct faculty member for the Mercy Residency program and Des Moines University.

In his spare time, Dr. Craig keeps busy with his wife and their four children, traveling and attending athletic events.
