Dr. Cory Pittman is the clinic director of the Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center. He first joined the Center in 2007 and has been very involved in advancing the services we are offering our patients to help improve their health and the quality of their life.

“I enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients and being a partner with them in their health care,” says Dr. Pittman. “I also like getting to know them personally.”

• Dr. Pittman received both his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and his medical degree from the University of Missouri.
• He achieved his internal medicine training at Indiana University and completed his specialty education in rheumatology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
• He has led the resident education program and became the Center’s health information technology leader during the implementation of the electronic health record system.
• As clinic director he also has spearheaded the Center’s transition to becoming a private practice.
• He is board certified in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Rheumatology Association of Iowa.
• Dr. Pittman is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is also an adjunct faculty member for the Mercy residency program and Des Moines University.

In his leisure time, Dr. Pittman enjoys fishing, biking and spending time with his family and is active in his church.
