Erik Swenson has been practicing rheumatology in the Des Moines area since 2008. He is a native of northwest Iowa.

• He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa with his undergraduate degree and received his medical degree from The University of Iowa.
• Dr. Swenson then completed his Internal Medicine training and Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.
• During his rheumatology fellowship training, he also served as a Primary Care Chief in Internal Medicine.
• Dr. Swenson is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• He is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Rheumatology Association of Iowa.
• Dr. Swenson is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is also an adjunct faculty member for the Mercy Residency program and Des Moines University.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and reading. He is also an avid fisherman.
